F.A.Q.
What do you do if your cellular phone gets wet?
First, take off your battery and leave it off! After it “looks” dry do not put the battery back on to “see if it works”. Even if it does now it probably won’t later. Take it to the nearest repair shop (By the way we would qualify as one of those) and have them clean the board and check out the phone. Let them know how it had gotten wet. Being dropped in a sink is not as bad as in the ocean or pool full of chemicals. If it works, this should only cost about $30 to $40 dollars unless they have to replace a board or LCD to get it to work correctly.
What types of phones get the best reception?
A non-flip phone should always have better reception than a flip phone because it normally has a longer antenna or an Omni directional antenna instead of a directional antenna.
Who has the “Best Service”?
The million dollar question!!!! There is not one best. The key is what the best service for your needs is. A good service sales person should ask some key questions to help you find the right fit for your needs. For example…..How many peak minutes do you need? How about nights and weekends? Do you travel much...and when you do where to and how long? Where do you live? What type do most of your friends carry? The last question is sometimes over looked but very important now with many companies providing mobile to mobile minutes free. If you have existing service, bring in a copy of your bill so they can see what you are using as a reference.
Can I take my number from my current cell phone provider?
The answer for now is: Most of the time but not always. Contact us and we can check for you. It is still not a completely smooth process. Remember to bring in a copy of the bill to help ease the process. It can still take as little as a few hours up to a couple of weeks. Also depending on the carrier it may cost up to $30 to do so.
How long will the battery on my new phone last and how often can I charge it?
New lithium batteries on a digital phone have “stand by times” from a few days to over a week. The more you talk the less it will last. The new batteries do not have a memory so you can charge them when you like and not really have to worry about hurting it like in the earlier days of wireless. Do remember though that a rechargeable battery can only be charged X number of times and a good rule of thumbs is about 300. So if you charge it every day it will last about a year. Every 2 days, 2 years etc. Batteries cost from $39.99 and up. Sometimes if the contract is up it may be worth wild to renew your contract or changes companies and get a new phone with a new battery and spend close to the same amount of money.

With a Hands-Free Kit, you can use your cell phone in your car without holding the handset. An external speaker and microphone provide you with, in effect, a speakerphone in your vehicle. It depends where you are going, and what network you are currently with. A GSM phone from Cingular will work in most places in it while you are in most foreign countries.
